Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins, also known as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins in the United States and Mexico, is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She is currently employed by ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter and sometimes hosts SportsNation. She joined ESPN in 2016. was a part of ESPN. Her mother is Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta has been bilingual since age nine. Her ability was crucial in securing her first job as a production assistant for Univision Miami in which she assisted the production of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then, her CBS affiliate in St. Petersburg employed her as a sport reporter. Her move into Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. The stories she covered were about immigration and drug trafficking in both Texas as well as Mexico. In addition, she was used at times as a news and sport anchor. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's station affiliated with Dallas. She was also given more duties. She wrote on sports like the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. She was the producer of Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra as anchor. She was advertised as a sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The same role she was employed by Primer Impacto (a network magazine) and Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports show). Antonietta's parents hail from Veracruz Mexico. In Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd November 1985. She has a sister. The family moved in 1992 to Mexico to the US and eventually settled in Miami. Her parents divorced soon after and, in the year 1995, she got married to a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. Her residence was with her family in Canton Ohio with her older sister during the summer in which she was given the opportunity of a job. Antonietta had just graduated high school, however she knew the things she wanted to accomplish. The campus was beautiful as well as offered the level of education she wanted. After finishing her high school education, she chose to go to the university to pursue a degree in media studies. Professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was member of the class, established a lasting relationship with the student. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to believe in herself and was deeply touched by his love of journalism.
